Happy Easter everyone!!
I just wanted to do a little post today and review this gorgeous Anastasia Beverly hills glow kit in “that glow”
I have been waiting for these to launch in the UK for a while now and when i knew cult beauty were stocking these I was so excited, I signed up on the wait list and as soon as I got my email to say it was in stock I was straight on the website ordering this beauty. I decided to go with the That glow palette as I love gold highlighters, I felt the Gleam kit looked a little bit cool toned and pink for my liking, although gleam is recommend for pale skin tones, but I just say go with the one you like the most, if you have read my highlighter collection post then you will know I’m obsessed with gold highlighters.
Now I will apologise for the bad quality pictures as I used my phone, after I took all these I had a slight accident 🙁 I dropped my phone on to the palette and it landed in the shade bubbly and literally took a chunk out the highlighter, I was devastated, It could only happen to me! so now I cant really get any nice pictures of it.
Here are the shade description according to the ABH website
Sunburst- bright, luminous gold with a metallic finish
Golden bronze- sultry, warm bronze with a gold flecked finish
Bubbly- rose champagne with a pearlescent finish
Dripping in gold- lavish gold with a vivid reflective finish
My favourite shades are sunburst and bubbly, I love mixing these two together, although bubbly and dripping in gold look identical in the pan they actually swatch differently, I cant see myself using golden bronze much as it is slightly dark for my NW15 skin tone but I think it would be a lovely bronzer or blush topper on me.
I also have the ABH illuminators and these are very different compared to them, a lot of people think the illuminators are more intense but when I swatched these I couldn’t believe how pigmented they were and also they are more powdery then the illuminators.
I’m a massive fan of this brand, when I went to America I stocked up on brow products, the cream contour palette, concealer and the powder contour and eye shadows, the only thing I couldn’t get my hands on was the liquid lipsticks. Every new product they bring out I seem to love.
I think the nice thing about these is that they can be mixed and really layered on the skin, when I first swatched them with my finger I thought how powdery they were and was hoping they wouldn’t look to cakey or drying on my skin but I was very surprised, these swatches were literally just one swipe so you can see how pigmented they are, plus if you were to spray your brush with MACs fix plus the highlighter would be even more intense.
Another good thing is the pan size, its a little deceiving when buying online but the pan size on these are pretty big and well worth the price at £39.
excuse my makeup as i did take it at the end of the day but here I’m wearing sunburst its a really nice bright gold, and the staying power is really good, like i said this was at the end of the day and my highlight was still going strong!
I really hope that they decide to bring out refills for these and also some new shades in the future, I would love to have a Z palette filled with these. I would really recommend purchasing a kit depending on what shades you prefer wearing, overall good value, good size pans, intense pigment and a really smooth and creamy formula.
UK girls these are now Available from www.cultbeauty.co.uk
