So today I want to talk to you and show you this gorgeous new collection from BECCA cosmetics and Jaclyn Hill! yes another Jaclyn collab!! I was lucky enough to get my hands on this last Thursday when it launched on Sephora! I’m not even joking I’ve been stalking this collection ever since I first heard about it, if you follow me on twitter you are probably sick of me by now, I was determined to get my hands on this bad boy!
BECCA love to tease us, they have been showing sneak peeks of this for weeks before it was launched, when I Saw the packaging alone I was obsessed, I love white and gold and this screamed BUY ME!! did I need it? nope not really I already have champagne pop which I love but the fact this is limited edition plus has limited edition shades in the face and eye palette my mind was made up that I needed to get it.
So It launched on Sephora May 26th 5pm UK time, it actually launched a little earlier which was a bonus for me as I actually had a waxing appointment so I was convinced I was going to miss out, I was stalking the site from 4.30Pm literally so focused to get this, don’t judge me, makeup shopping is a serious business especially when an item is limited edition and thousands of people want it! I quickly added everything to cart and checked out so quickly I don’t think I’ve ever ordered anything online so quick it was a military operation!!
So I will let you know what I paid and shipping etc for anyone interested.
all together it came to £93.63
face palette was £37.67 $52
eyeshadow palette £28.98 $40
shipping £12.31 and tax was £14.95
This might be expensive to some but I actually thought it wasn’t to bad, I’ve ordered things from America before and been stung with shipping and custom chargers etc, This is the first time I’ve ordered from Sephora and I love the fact they include taxes and duties so I wont have any additional custom fees. Plus I ordered this on Thursday and it arrived yesterday which was a bank holiday Monday! now that’s fast and excellent service.
Here are the items I got, aren’t they just gorgeous!! that packaging though, its so beautiful….
I decided to get the limited edition items first as the other products In this collection are permanent, So I can grab them another time. She also has the champagne pop liquid and poured crème version in this collection.
Here are the Shades in the limited edition face palette
Rose spritz: luminous blush, soft peachy pink with gold shimmer
Amaretto: Mineral matte blush, toasted almond shade
Pamplemousse: mineral matte blush, bright coral pink shade
Champagne pop: white gold with pink peach (highlighter)
Prosecco Pop: medium warm gold according to Jaclyn its inspired by liquid gold (highlighter)
I’m going to be honest although the packaging and look of the palette is absolutely stunning, these shades are a little out of my comfort zone, I never wear pink or coral blushes, you are probably thinking why did i get this then? simple fact is I’m a makeup junkie and love collecting and buying makeup and limited edition items, I also wanted it for the new highlighter alone. I’m glad I got this and I will definitely try this out and experiment with these shades. I do think this palette will be very versatile with all different skin tones.
Limited edition Eyeshadow palette
This is the eyeshadow palette which In my opinion is my favourite and not being talked about as much as it should, these shades are so versatile and can be used for a natural day look or a night time Smokey look, these shades are so me, I love a neutral eyeshadow.
shades in this palette
Chardonnay: Shimmer shade, Sheer gold with pink and yellow undertones
Champagne toast: another shimmer, with Reflective peach & a dash of cinnamon (according to becca)
Cordial: matte rose with warm undertone
Cognac: matte shadow, shade is described as coffee ( again according to becca lol)
Bordeaux: another matte, rich wine shade with chocolate undertones.
Overall I am very happy I got this collection and cant wait to play around and create some looks with these, My favourite is the eyeshadow palette which I’m very surprised about, I just think the shadows are so nice and pigmented and blend so smoothly, I don’t own any other BECCA eyeshadows so this is my first. I think these shades can be used for lots of things and will look so different on everyone.
The face palette again has a lovely selection of blushes and highlighters it screams summer for me, when I swatched Prosecco pop it did look a little yellow gold so not sure how that will look on my nw15 skin tone, people have said it can pull very yellow on pale skin but Jaclyn recommends mixing it with different highlighters and also champagne pop which I cant wait to do, I love mixing highlighters. I think my favourite blush is Amaretto and the one I will get more use out of. I have a lot of BECCA highlighters and I think they are hands down one of my favourite brands, The formula is so creamy and pigmented. I just love their products they give such a natural glow to the skin.
Once I create some looks with these I will be sure to add some pictures as I know its hard to go off swatches on the wrist.
If you didn’t get this palette don’t be upset, I have been gathering as much info to help others get this collection
it will be back on www.Sephora.com June 16th and in Sephora stores June 21st
UK girls don’t worry we aren’t missing out on this, space NK are stocking this, I have heard that they are doing pre sale only for this www.spacenk.com just search BECCA and it comes up, and I believe they are shipping out June 21st!! so don’t miss out.
I had also contacted cult beauty who have said they might be getting the collection by July/august. I’m not 100% on this though as everyone has been told different things by cult beauty so I’m just letting you know what they told me.
I hope you girls are able to get this, let me know what you think of the collection below and if you are going to be picking anything up
as always thanks for reading beauties
*UPDATE* As from the 8th June BECCA has pulled the eyeshadow from the Jaclyn hill line, which I’m sad about as it was actually my favourite. It will no longer be sold 🙁 also if you pre ordered at space NK then you will be getting a refund, also Sephora are offering refunds too if you aren’t happy with the product. According to Jaclyn the palette was getting negative reviews and people complaining how dry and patchy the shadows were. This is news to me as I love mine and don’t have any issues whatsoever. So I still stand by my original first impression and review 🙂
