DOSE of Color Hidden Treasure Palette Review

DOSE of Color Hidden Treasure Palette Review

I’m back again with another post, I’ve just been buying so much makeup lately, whoops….

But today I want to do a review and first Impression on this DOC hidden treasure palette, can we just take a moment to admire this beautiful DOC palette, I’m obsessed!!

DOC doc4

I’ve had my eye on this for some time, as you know Dose of colors is famous for liquid lipsticks and is a small brand who is still fairly new, but this is the brands first eyeshadow palette and it’s just gorgeous!! No one in the UK was stocking this which I was gutted about as I really wanted it, it was only being sold on the DOC website and we all know shipping and customs is expensive when ordering from the US, but anyway  It was always sold out on the DOC site, I was stalking them on Instagram to see when it would be back in stock but I must have missed it as they said it had already come back and surprise surprise it’s sold out again but I notice they said it was Limited edition!! which I didn’t know about so I was searching around the internet seeing how I could get my hands on this as I had heard such good things about this palette and how the foil shadows were so pigmented and amazing.

I have been following a page on Instagram called colourcosmetix who is UK based and sells American makeup for affordable prices, I actually follow a lot of pages like this as sometimes I miss out on LE items and these type of pages buy a few and then sell on, well it must have been my lucky day as the day I was looking around the internet she posted a picture on her page to say she had these in stock, I messaged straight away asking for a price and she was charging £46 for this plus postage which I thought was amazing, as this palette is $50 alone on the US DOC site. I hate companies that bulk buy and then sell them for silly prices because a product is limited edition but it wasn’t the case here. The palette arrived 2 days later and all in one piece so thank you so much if you’re reading this!! I’m extremely happy I managed to get this.  (Please note this was my experience with ordering through colourcosmetix, I have had a couple of girls comment on my Instagram post asking if her page is legit as her website currently isn’t working but she did say to me its being redesigned, I ordered this palette through Instagram & PayPal, which I know some might not like doing, but I didn’t have any issues)

Now onto the actual palette which I am in love with, I don’t own anything like this, I actually was going to order the Tarte cosmetic bunny palette but I decide to get this instead as it was completely different to anything in my collection, and I think I made the right choice 🙂

It comes with 5  foil metallic shadows that can be used wet or dry

  • Coin
  • gemstone
  • Diamond
  • Crown
  • Ruby

1 shimmer shade in pearl which is perfect to use as an inner eye highlight or on the brow bone, this is a gorgeous shade I think I would actually use it as a highlighter everywhere it’s that nice.

4 matte shades which are perfect for creating a smokey eye or using as a transition colour.

  • Map
  • key
  • locket
  • onyx

This palette is

  • Cruelty Free
  • Gluten Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Talc Free
  • Phthalate Free

A lot of people say the packaging is cheap looking for the $50 price tag which in a way I can agree on as you would expect it to be metal or plastic but I actually really love the packaging and design I like the whole theme with the treasure and Jewels  and how the shadows are scattered to look like an inside of a treasure chest. It has a big mirror which is always handy and is thin and compact for traveling, I’m really loving this and cant wait to play around and create some looks with this.

My favourites are definitely the foil metallic shades I can’t even describe how utterly pigmented these are, I literally dipped my finger in and was shocked how much product was on my finger, they’re almost like a glitter shadow but without the primer, glue and fall out of a glitter shadow if that makes sense?

Coin is one of my favourite foil shades in this palette, it’s a pure bright gold almost like 24k gold and will suit so many skin tones, also the shade key is one of my favourites out of the matte shades as it’s a lovely warm brown and would be lovely to use with coin!

Gemstone is also another of my favourite shades it’s a rose gold metallic, and I’m obsessed with rose gold lately.

This palette has a mixture of gold, coppers, and rose gold tones and the mattes just complement the metallic shades So well, I think this palette is gorgeous and I’m just so happy I managed to find it, I cant wait to see what DOC brings out next. This may be pricey but for how pigmented and buttery these shades are it’s well worth the money in my opinion.

I find using my finger for the foil shadows is better than using a brush but that’s just my person preference.
