Today I am going to talk about a foundation I am currently loving, If you read my target Haul post you know exactly what foundation I will be talking about.
It is the L’Oréal Infallible pro glow foundation that is only available in the US at the moment, which is why I ordered it from America in the first place. I was itching to try this, the pro matte gets so many good reviews and everyone seems to love it over higher end foundations, so I had high hopes for the pro glow. Plus the fact I do suffer with dry skin I love a dewy foundation which makes your skin glow. I couldn’t wait for it to launch in the UK as we always get things last, sometimes it can take a full year before we get the product here and sometimes they change the name etc so I wanted to try the real thing.
I believe it comes in 12 shades, I picked up 2 as I couldn’t decide what shade to get, I am pale so I’m normally the lightest shades In foundations so I picked up 201, and 202. Depending on where you buy it the price varies as on Walmart it’s about £$10 but I paid $11.99 from target.
packaging is nice with screw top and easy squeeze bottle, it’s perfect for travel.
Left – 201 is more cool toned and has a pink undertone (hard to see in this pic)
Right – 202 is more neutral so isn’t to yellow
What it claims
- 24 hour wear with hydrating glow
- light weight, creamy formula
- contains SPF 12
- medium coverage
- instantly hides imperfections
- for normal to dry skin
I am really loving this foundation, It is very runny as it’s a liquid foundation so it has to be shaken before use, the coverage I would say is medium but definitely build-able to full coverage, It is a lovely finish, it’s dewy but without being wet and greasy looking, I was definitely expecting it to be more dewy and glowy on my skin as I had watched some videos and a lot of people did say it ended up looking really oily on them but it didn’t do that to me. It’s just the perfect finish for my skin and gives you that natural radiant skin with a healthy looking glow, I’m really impressed. It covers my blemishes well but I always go over with a concealer anyway regardless. It claims to have 24 hours wear, I don’t wear foundation for that long if I’m honest but the longest I have worn this for is about 15 hours, I took it off about midnight one might and it still looked really good. It did break up a little bit on my chin but all foundations do this to me and that’s mostly where I have my breakouts, but it didn’t look oily or greasy on me, if anything it looked better the longer it was on.
I felt like my skin looked really nice and smooth looking, I couldn’t stop looking at it when I first applied it, It doesn’t transfer either but I did set it with powder as I do this with every foundation I wear. I also like to mention that my bronzer, blush and highlighter powder applied nicely as well, as I do find some foundations can make your powder look patchy but I didn’t have this issue.
It also didn’t oxidize on me and stayed true to colour. The shades I picked up work well for me, I mostly wear 201 but I do add 202 around the centre of my face where I want a bit more colour, I could actually get away with mixing these shades together as well. I apply this using a makeup sponge, like the Real technique or beauty blender, and I also love using my artis oval 7 brush to apply this as well, both give a lovely finish.
overall I am very impressed and have been using it everyday since I got it, I just don’t want to run out now as I have no idea how long it will be until it’s out in the UK, I’m hoping we wont be waiting long, if you suffer with combo or dry skin I would really recommend trying out this foundation, it doesn’t feel like a drugstore foundation at all and it’s easily become one of my favourites in the little time I’ve been using it.
Below is a couple of pictures I took on my camera when I was wearing the foundation after a few hours of it being applied.
As always thanks for reading!
