Guess who is finally back!! did you miss me?! I’m so sorry for my absence on the blog recently I took a well needed break, as I’ve had a lot of personal stuff going on and needed some me time. But I am back and I’ve got my motivation back too I’m glad to say…. yay!!
I can’t wait to get writing again and I’m so looking forward to all my Christmas posts I’ve got coming up that I’m currently working on!
But less of me boring you, todays post is all about the Urban decay naked Ultimate basic palette (wow that is a mouthful)
Would you believe it if I told you that I’ve never owned an urban decay palette!! I was just never tempted by any of them if I’m completely honest, well until this one come out that is.
Keep on reading to find out my review on this urban decay palette everyone is talking about recently.
It’s the naked ultimate basics, and we all know I love a basic palette especially matte and this palette is all matte, well apart from one shade which is more of a satin/shimmer, I can never have enough neutral matte shades, none of the other UD naked palettes ever did anything for me but I was in love with this as soon as I saw it, the packaging is stunning, the shades are definitely everyday basic shadows and I was really intrigued to try a UD palette to see what the formula was like.
I know so many people rave about the UD palettes so I wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was about.
How gorgeous is this packaging?! it’s rose gold and I’m obsessed, it really does stand out!
I know a lot of people don’t like the new shape and layout but I love it, it’s not to bulky which I think makes it perfect for travel and on the go, and I also love the fact it has a giant mirror and good quality brush included, the smaller end of the brush is perfect for blending and smudging the shadow on the lower lash line.
The bottom shades, extra bitten, faith and lockout are my favourite, extra bitten is a stunning brick toned orangey brown and it’s hands down my favourite shade in the palette. Pre game and blow I use for my inner eye highlight and brow bone.
The actual shades are really pigmented but the first thing I noticed is they have a lot of fall out in the pan, I cant compare this with other UD palettes but this might be totally normal for UD shadows. They blend nice and feel really smooth but considering this is my first UD palette I’ve got to be honest, I’m not blown away by it which I’m sad to say, these shadows are very easily dupable, so if you passed on this I wouldn’t worry. I have so many eyeshadow palettes I love including my ABH, morphe palettes etc and I’m not sure this Basic palette is anything spectacular In comparison. Don’t get me wrong I am glad I got this as I can finally say I’ve finally tried out an UD naked palette and like I’ve said before I love makeup with pretty packaging and I’m a bit of a hoarder so I don’t regret buying it plus I do really hate buying makeup and then regretting it after, even if I don’t like something I can never part with it. I’ve actually been really good recently and only been buying stuff that I really need rather than just lusting after ha! It has saved me a lot of money and also space.
I know everyone was looking forward to this palette, did you get it let me know in the comments what you think?
Thanks for reading. Xo
