So today’s post is all about Jouer cosmetics, I have been raving about Jouer for quite a while now after trying some of the lip cremes at the end of last year, I instantly fell in love with the formula, packaging and the selection of products but more on that later, If you haven’t heard of Jouer then it’s because it’s a fairly newish brand and these lip cremes have only been around for over a year now but already Cult Beauty (ad) stock the full range of Jouer products online which I am so happy about as otherwise you would only be able to get Jouer from the US! That is one of the reasons I love cult beauty, I am forever signing up to wait lists for products that are hard to get in the UK, and cult beauty is really expanding with brands they sell online which is always a good thing for us makeup addicts.
I have bought a few Jouer items from cult beauty including the highlighters, and a few other lip cremes as well as the best of nude gift set they had at christmas time which happens to have some of my favourite nude liquid lipsticks shades, including melon, creme brulee, noisette, Terra and skinny dip.
But this post I want to mainly talk about the Liquid lip cremes as I really don’t think they get the attention they deserve. I Have a few shades here I will talk about and review as well as a few other Jouer lip products I’ve tried, two of these shades are also metallic which are so gorgeous.
A Metallic baby ballet pink – This shade is absolutely beautiful a lot of people can be put off by wearing metallic lipsticks, I always used to be one of them but over the last few months I have been loving them, and the good thing about the Jouer ones is that they aren’t thick or drying and aren’t too intense either, they can be worn on its own or even as a lip topper over your favourite lipstick, I love adding these to the center of my lips, it makes my lips look more fuller and also adds definition to the lips without going too over the top if you want a more natural metallic lip. Also these have such an amazing formula so they are really comfortable to wear.
A metallic cool bronze pink– this is another shade I love because it’s so unique and the colour suits so many skin tones, It’s a darker pink, but again I don’t find this intimidating to wear or feel silly when I am wearing it because it is just the right amount of shimmer and metallic, I’ve seen pictures of people wearing this on Instagram and it looks gorgeous on each skin tone. Again I do add this more to the middle off my lips and it really makes my lips pop!
Warm matte nude pink – Nude liquid lipsticks are my absolute favourite, so I do love all these shades I am going to mention as I just think you can never have enough, I love warm, neutral and cool toned nudes. Melon is definitely your everyday nude, again it would suit so many different skin tones and it isn’t to warm or too cool its the perfect shade. I think melon and Praline make the perfect combo!
Warm Peachy Nude – Creme brulee is a shade that is very in at the moment and will definitely be one of my favourite summer shades, everyone is loving peach nudes lately and this shade is the perfect peachy warm nude, which again would suit a lot of people. I’m loving doing peachy makeup looks lately with a peach eye and lip combo!
Cool toned dusty mauve pink – This is the darkest pink nude shade out the bunch I own, everyone loves a dusty mauve toned shade thanks to Kylie Jenner and this is definitely a shade I think everyone will love. I myself was going mad for these shades last year and its a classic shade that never goes out of style.
Now on to the formula which everyone will want to know about as that’s the first thing people ask me about liquid lipsticks, I actually don’t think these lip cremes get the praise they deserve, I know the people who have tried them say the formula is one of the best they have tried but for people who are unsure I hope my review persuades you to buy one and try them for yourself as they really are incredible. You can even tell from my lip and hand swatches they don’t look drying or accentuate my fine lines.
When you think of a matte liquid lipsticks you expect it to be dry, let’s be honest, but These matte shades are so moisturising and don’t feel dry or make my lips looked cracked which I love, I can wear these all day and they still look and feel good at the end of the day, which I know is what I look for in a liquid lipstick.
The metallics have such a gorgeous formula too, as you can see from my swatches they aren’t over the top or in your face, I find they are just the perfect amount of shimmer to get away with wearing these for a natural makeup look or even more of a glam look, plus they are really build-able, you can wear these on their own like I have done in these swatches or they can be used as lip toppers, or you can even add them to the center of the lips which is what I love to do as well. I would definitely recommend to have at least one metallic shade in your collection, as there is so much you can do with these.
If I haven’t mentioned enough why I love these than Cult beauty explain exactly why I am obsessed with these beauties so much….
“cocktail, canape and kiss resistant, Long comfortable wear with beautifully bold and full coverage lip pigments, weightless and non drying, dries with a smooth soft touch finish“
I have to agree with this description, they are definitely the most comfiest liquid lipstick to wear, these don’t make your lips feel like the sahara desert, (nobody likes the cracked crusty look do they ha!) I can eat and drink with these and they last a very long time on the lips and they also fade evenly too which Is a bonus and makes it easier to touch up if you have to. The texture isn’t a liquid or really runny so it makes it so easy to apply, it has more of a creamy mousse type formula but once applied dries completely, and feels weightless. The doe foot applicator is a lovely shape and isn’t to large which also makes it really easy to apply.
A couple of other Jouer products I want to recommend that you can also buy on cult beauty is the Long wear Lip toppers, These are stunning and like a glittery gloss that you can wear on its own or as a lip topper, I have skinny dip which is the most gorgeous champagne gold, these aren’t at all sticky and can really transform a normal lipstick.
Doe foot applicator is the perfect size
Also the powder highlighters are incredible, there is a reason why they are always sold out on cult beauty, the formula again is very unique and I don’t own anything like them, super soft, a buttery smooth texture, although it’s a powder it almost feels wet which is perfect for my dry skin, these can be applied subtle or build able if you love an intense highlight.
few products from my Jouer collection
If you aren’t a fan of liquid lipsticks because of how drying they can be then I really do recommend trying these as I don’t think you will be disappointed with the formula, or if you’re like me and absolutely love wearing matte lipsticks but suffer with dry lips you will love these I guarantee it! They are the most loved formula in my collection and I’m so glad Jouer are starting to bring out lots more shades.
These Lip cremes are only £15 (for 6ml) which I think is so reasonable for this brand as it’s definitely more of a luxury high-end brand I would say and for how amazing these lipstick are it’s totally worth it.
I have got a few girls to try Jouer from just seeing my instagram posts and they have loved them, so I’m really pleased more people are starting to know about this fab brand.
