Kylie Cosmetics Kylighters Review

Yes I gave in and got the Kylie cosmetics kylighters, I said I wasnt going to but I just couldn’t control myself, Plus I havent ordered anything from Kylie for so long now. I was good and resisted all her latest collections including the valentines and khloe collection, but I am a sucker for a highlighter so obvs I had to get some.

Out of all of them I only wanted 3 which was French Vanilla, Salted Caramel and Cotton candy cream, But cotton candy cream was sold out in seconds I literally had no chance which was a bit annoying,  So I had to just get these two.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about these, and a lot of people have been saying they’re a waste of money because they don’t swatch great and arent intense enough. Now not everyone wants or likes an intense in your face highlight, me being one of them, I love subtle and build able highlighters and these are perfect for that.

French Vanilla

A stunning shade, I actually don’t own anything like this, I though mary Lou from the balm was going to be similar but its slighty different. French vanilla is described as a soft icy gold, which it is, it’s the perfect shade for fair and pale girls like me who love to wear gold highlighters but can never find one that complements our skin tone! this is definitely the one I will get more use out of.

Salted Caramel

Salted Caramel Is A mid tone warm gold, I have so many gold highlighters it’s not even funny but I couldn’t resist this one as I had heard this and French vanilla is gorgeous mixed together , I think that’s why I wanted Cotton candy cream as its so different to anything I would normally wear, I’m trying to stop buying gold as I have so many lol but I doubt this will happen.

Salted Caramel is a gorgeous gold though and definitely more intense than french Vanilla. I think I could only wear this in the summer and when I’m a bit more tanned.

The formula is like silk its beautiful, I couldn’t believe how silky it felt for a powder, it almost felt like the colourpop ones but it’s actually a pressed powder rather than a cream type formula.  I would almost say its similar to the Jouer highlighters.  It doesn’t swatch the best I have to be honest, I had to dip my fingers in a few times to get tis picture, but dont let that put you off as these really do apply beautifully, it does go to show that swatches aren’t everything as this is so blinding when it’s on the cheeks and like I said you can really build this up!! I have dry skin so sometimes highlighters really cling to my dry patches and show the texture but these didn’t, they just felt so nice on the skin and I really loved how it looked. I did one layer for a subtle highlighter and then added another layer for it to be more intense. I have been applying them with my morphe Brushes one being the M501 and it applies really nice using this brush.  I think for people who love a bam in your face highlighter in one swipe then no you probably wont like these, but I’m really happy I got myself a couple to try and didn’t just go off the bad reviews I saw online.

These are $22 each which is a good price as they’re actually pretty big, I also didn’t get a custom charge either which I was surprised about as I normally always do, So that was a result. This has actually been the best service I’ve ever got from Kylie cosmetics, It was sent the next day after I ordered which again never happens I normally have to wait a week for a dispatched email, and then it was in the uk within a few days so I’m hoping Kylie has sorted her customer service out and its running a lot better now.

My Kylie Collection so far

Will you be picking up any of these kylighters? What one have you got your eye on?

Thanks for reading

It is tempting I will admit. The colours look amazing but I’m just so put off by the lead time and customs charges. This was a great post though and as always your pictures are AMMMMMMAAAAZING!!!xxx

French Vanilla looks like such a beautiful shade. I’ve never placed an order from Kylie Cosmetics but I’m so tempted to soon. x
