Trying Lime Crime for the first time…
Lime Crime Is a brand I have wanted to try for ages but just didn’t know where to start or what to try first, but I had heard amazing things about their Velvetine matte lipsticks that I still need to try and have added to my list. But I’m Excited to finally try some of their other products and I wanted to give a little review.
Lime Crime is a cruelty free and vegan brand and are best known for their fun and unique style when it comes to make up, I love how bold and carefree they are when it comes to their products, it’s all about expressing yourself and being completely you which I love, they think outside the box when it comes to products and I love that. Both the products and packaging is never boring!
As you know Cult beauty have a new brand in the spotlight every month and this month it is Lime Crime, so they’re offering free worldwide delivery on all Lime Crime orders, so it’s the perfect way to try some products like me or stock up on some favourites.

The brand new Venus III palette is new to cult beauty and is the most girliest palette ever, it’s so Barbie I just love it, if you love pink and purple shadows then you need to add this to your collection. I was excited to try this and test out the formula.
It’s not a palette I thought I would love as I’m pretty basic when it comes to eyeshadows and I’m scared of colour but I have seen some gorgeous looks created with this and I cant wait to properly experiment with it. I used dreamy, bliss and heavenly first and I loved the eye look and how it came out.
The Venus palettes are always really unique when it comes to the shades which I love as it’s so different, it gets a bit boring seeing the same old shades in palettes so its refreshing to see a bit of variety and colour. I think this one and the Venus II palettes are my favourites, the Venus XL palette also looks amazing.
This has 8 shades with a mix of matte, shimmer and metallic including lilac, rose gold, mauves and earthly browns. I also look for palettes that have a mix of formulas as I love a nice matte crease colour and then I like to add shimmer and metallic to create a halo eye, I think it looks so pretty. The only one I haven’t used is paradise as it’s a little bold for me but as you can see its just as pigmented as the other shadows and it was lovely to swatch, all the shades are really soft and pigmented and blended really well on the eyes, I didn’t notice any major fall out either which Is a bonus.
Aren’t these shades so pretty? I definitely think you could use this palette alone and create a lot of different looks with it but it is also a nice additional palette to have to go with more everyday basic shades.
You will probably all know by now how much I love glitter eyeshadows, I have had my eye on these for a while actually and wanted to pick a couple up, I loved the look of them and the packaging.
These are classed more as Lid toppers that brings the effect of sparkling diamonds to your eyes, I think these could definitely be used as all over eyeshadoes, they’re really pigmented and have a base colour which I personally love as it’s not just glitter, very similar to the popular stila ones etc. This is the shade Vision which is an iridescent mauve. These are liquid but do dry down really quick and don’t smudge, crease or have any fall out which is what everyone want’s when using glitter shadows right?
I’m definitely going to treat myself to a couple more shades, I’ve got my eye on pixie, rose goals and starlight.
The Diamond Lip crushers literally smell like something you could eat they smell like strawberries, I am a little bit obsessed with sparkly lip toppers so much recently, the glittery the better and these are super pigmented and this shade dope is my perfect shade as it goes so well over the top of my favourite nude lipsticks. This shade is a champagne cotton candy pink. I love the shade selection in these, they have so many that I would wear and are actually wearable on a daily basis, the shades aren’t too crazy!! They dry really quick as well so I might even try these on the eyes and even the cheek as a highlighter and see what they look like. These are a must have for festival season…just saying!!
Lip Plushies £18
The matte Velvetines get a lot of good reviews and I still need to pick a couple up to try myself but if you aren’t a fan of matte and liquid lipsticks then you will love these lip veil plushies, again they smell like something you could eat, they smell like candy. I love the fact these are so comfortable to wear, they aren’t super pigmented or thick which is perfect for people who prefer a lightweight lipstick. The idea of these is that it’s a soft focus formula which is Non-opaque that enhances natural lip color while making your lips look as plush as a teddy bear but don’t let the fact these aren’t super pigmented put you off, these can be applied more than once and layered over other lip products as well and they wont feel dry or thick on the lips, one coat is enough to give you that your lips but better look.
I really love the concept of these, they’re so cute and I love the name and packaging. This shade is milk tea which is described as the perfect nudey Mauve, its so flattering and is a lovely everyday shade, I love wearing nudes and I find these shades go with everything.
Here is some swatches of the Diamond crusher lip topper in Dope, Diamond dew eyeshadow in Vision and the plushies lip veil in milk tea.
I am going to treat myself to some more diamond dew eyeshadows and matte velvetines, as I really want to try some more products from this brand after trying these bits. Some of their products are a little bold for me like the unicorn hair and unicorn and mermaid highlighters ha ha but I cant help but love anything sparkly for the eyes and lips and I am always trying new liquid lipsticks and formulas. I really enjoy testing and trying out new products and brands, and stepping a little out my comfort zone with shades, like the eyeshadow palette for instance.
Let me know if you have tried anything from Lime Crime and if you will be picking up any new products to try? I’d love to hear of other peoples favourites.
All these products mentioned are available from cult beauty.
