cult beauty brand of the month huda beauty

Now if like me you shop on Cult beauty a lot then you will know that every month they have a brand that is featured and you usually get free delivery with purchases from that particular brand. Which I think is such a good idea, Cult beauty stock some amazing brands and I also stock up and take advantage when they have their brand of the month, I mean I’m always shopping on Cult beauty dont get me wrong but Id say every month or so I will make a big order of some of the products I have had my eye on.

This month is Huda Beauty, and she’s recently launched some new products, so obviously I had to pick up a couple of things because we all know I have issues and can’t resist the temptation.

huda beauty

I just wanted to talk about a few products I already love from Huda and also a few new ones that have just launched. I feel like Huda is completely killing it lately, she seems to have so many new products launching and one thing I love about all her products is the packaging, you will see why, just keep on reading.

Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette

huda warm obsessions palette

This is the first eye shadow palette I have of Hudas, I have to be honest I didn’t buy any of the others as I have so many similar shades and I had to draw a line somewhere ha ha I end up buying so much makeup  that I’ve recently tried only buying stuff I really do want and need. And I couldn’t resist this mini Obsession palette,  Yep I have other warm toned palettes but I knew I needed this the minute I saw the swatches, The shades looked amazing. she has four of these in total, warm, Mauve, Smokey, and electric. So definitely a variety and a palette for everyone.

The shadows are super pigmented and blend really nicely on the eyes I just think this one is a must for Autumn as it has those gorgeous warm toned oranges and browns in a mix of matte and foiled textures.

huda warm palette

It is on the small side, But it’s not suppose to be a big sized palette like Hudas other ones, this has been specially created to take for travel and on the go with really wearable every day shades, these are even great to try before buying her full-sized palettes if you was unsure on the pigment and formula.

Contour and Strobe Lip Set

huda contour and strobe tins

Now isn’t this just packaging goals!! I told you Huda always kills it with her packaging! This is like every makeup junkies and Huda holics dream. These lip tins contain, Hudas famous Lip contour lip liner, liquid matte lipstick and her lip strobe.  The perfect tools to create that popular plump looking lip.

I picked up the sets in Bombshell/Ritzy and Trendsetter/snobby although in total their is four different shades to choose from, But I went with the nudes!! But just FYI for some reason Hudas nudes look so dark on me, except for the nude love mini collection that I will talk about later, that set is a must for Nude lipstick lovers.

huda beauty lip tins

These lip tins will make the perfect Christmas gift and stocking filler, I’m actually going to be including these in my gift guides that’s coming on the blog soon, But They’re perfect if you want to try out any of these products before buying the full size, as the liquid matte and lip strobe come in a deluxe mini size, which is also so handy for on the go and to keep in your makeup bag.

lip contour liner  – draw around you lips, over line just a little bit for that perfect fuller lip. Hudas lip liners are so  creamy and is so easy to use. You can even fill your whole lip in with these, they’re that comfortable to wear alone.

Liquid Matte –  the Liquid matte formula is unlike anything I’ve tried before, and I’m still getting use to it, these are not drying in the slightest and feel so moisturising on the lips, if you’re not a fan of liquid lipsticks because you don’t like how matte and drying they are then you need to try these. On me they do take a little while to dry down but I think it depends on what I have used underneath. They’re transfer proof but you will need to reapply them after eating oily foods.

Lip strobe – These can be worn alone or over the top and create a gorgeous 3D strobe metallic look, it can also look a little glossy depending on what you wear it with. These are gorgeous to add a little something extra. I have been loving the shade ritzy, it’s a gorgeous gold shade that looks beautiful over the top of my favourite nude.

Trendsetter & snobby – trendsetter is a warm toned brown nude, snobby is a rose pink with gold reflects.

huda trendetter swatch

Bombshell & Ritzy –  Bombshell is Hudas most iconic shade, its a dark pinky nude and Ritzy is a gorgeous true gold.

Liquid Matte Minis – Nude love collection

nude love collection huda

This set I am totally In love with, it has the perfect nudes to suit a lot of skin tones with a peach, pink, brown and  neutral nudes. This set is also going to be included in my Christmas gift guide as it’s the perfect gift to give for fellow lipstick loves.

Like I said previously the formula is very thin and moistursing, it doesn’t even feel like you have anything on, plus they smell amazing, it does have quite a strong coconut fragrance.

Crush – A beautiful light peachy pink nude

Wifey – neutral cool toned pink nude

Girlfriend – warm apricot almost brown nude

Sugar mama – dark peachy pink nude

Complexion Perfection makeup base primer

Face, Buff & Blend Brush

huda primer and face brush

Last but certainly not least is two of the newest releases, which is the complexion perfection pre makeup base primer this has been launched in conjunction with her new faux filter foundation and face brush. I haven’t yet tried the foundation as  I literally don’t have a clue what shade I am,  I have never had this problem before, I’m usually the lightest shade in foundations but Huda has such a good shade range and the fair shades come up very light that I’m struggling to pick one, and also the fact the shades are never in stock for long as its so popular at the moment.

But I have been testing out the primer and brush for nearly a week now and can give you my first impressions if you’re thinking about getting either of these.

I have combination skin, oily on my t zone but I get very dry everywhere else, and my skin is playing up so bad right now due to the weather. This primer is very thick and does feel more like a moisturiser, I can see why it’s called a pre makeup base, as it could be used as a  primer and moisturiser. I feel like no matter what your skin type is you could still end up loving this primer, especially if your pairing it with your favourtie foundation. it’s very moitsturing and does leave a slight tacky feeling on the skin, it did for me anyway but it didn’t feel uncomfortable or anything. It felt like my skin was hydrated and smooth looking, But not the usual dewy finish I’m used to or prefer from some of my favourite other primers. I did notice my t zone didn’t get as oily though throughout the day so I like I said I definitely feel like this can be used for all skin types, as it seems to be moistursing and also keeps the oil at bay!! I did feel like I looked a little bit dryer than I’m used to but again I don’t know if this is just because my skin is playing up. I’ve only had it a few days so that’s just my first impression, the more I use it I will know for sure how it wears. Loads of people who I have spoken to who have got this and the Huda foundation absolutely love it and said they’re amazing to use together. So I will definitely let you know how I get on with it the more I use it.

huda beauty primer

The face brush is a buffing and blending foundation brush that goes perfect with the primer and foundation. It is soft but densely packed white hairs and has a flat angled edge which is the perfect shape to use on the face and getting round hard to reach areas and creases like the nose, eyes etc. It gives a flawless streak free finish and I am really loving this, normally I’m a beauty blender kind of girl and rarely use brushes anymore but this really applies foundation nicely and makes your foundation look full coverage and has a natural airbrushed finished. I find Brushes that are dense and flat are the best type of brushes to apply liquid and creams.

So that pretty much sums up my Huda beauty collection and the products I love and recommend. Keep an eye out on my gift guides starting next week which will also include Huda goodies.

If you’re a Huda beauty fan then I definitely think you need and would love these new additions to her ever growing collection, especially the mini sets for Christmas. Anyone who loves more full coverage then you definitely need the primer, brush and foundation. And I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye out to see when the shades come back in stock.

Have you got any of these products on your wish list?? Let me know, but now is the perfect time to take full advantage and order them with free delivery from cult beauty

gigi maybelline lipsticks

I have been waiting for this collection to Launch in the U.K. For ages now because I had my eye on these nude lipsticks from the new maybelline x Gigi Hadid collection! And boy they don’t disappoint!!

The collection is separated into two, you have the west coast glow and east coast glam collection with the west being more “Sunkissed and sultry, this glowing collection is inspired by the warm Cali vibes of Gigi’s hometown “  which includes bold red lipsticks, lip liners and highlighters and the east being “Fresh, bold, fierce. It is all about the cat eye in this city chic look look inspired by Gigi’s home away from home, New York City” with more wearable nude shade lipstick and lip liners, eye shadow palettes and liquid liner.

We all know that nudes are my Favourite  shades so I had to pick up a couple from this collection to try out.

Maybelline is my favourite drugstore lipstick formula though so I knew I would  love these.  They’re matte lipsticks but so creamy and comfortable on the lips and the shades I got were McCall and Taura and they are the most gorgeous nudes ever and look so flattering on!!

gigi maybelline west coast collection

There is three nudes in this collection although I only got the two lighter shades which are more neutral and beige toned. The shade Erin is more of a darker brown, so these will be lovely for all skin tones, like I said the formula of these is just the same as  Maybelline’s other matte lipsticks, which are so creamy and pigmented. It doesn’t even feel like a matte on. So if you’re not a lover of dry matte lipsticks then you will love these. The lip liners are also super pigmented and creamy and are great for outlining your lips.

The packaging is nude, which I also love, with Gigi’s signature in silver holographic text which looks really cool, I would have loved nude and gold but it is still really nice and looks gorgeous on my Vanity.

A lot of people have had mixed feelings on this collection, due to the fact the prices are a little bit more than Maybelline’s regular products, I can’t comment on the other products in this collection as I haven’t tried them, but like any collection especially with new packaging and a collaboration with a celebrity you can’t expect the price not to increase a little bit. The normal matte lipsticks are £6.99 and these are £8.99, so I don’t think £2 more is that bad also the lip liners are £2 more as well.

gigi maybelline mccall lipstick

Mccall is the lighter one out the two I have, Its a gorgeous classic neutral nude shade that looks so pretty on. Its that perfect my lips but better shade.

gigi maybelline taura lipstick

Taura is a more dark beige shade and again looks so nice on the lips, both these shade are quite cool toned.

gigi maybelline lipstick swatches

Left is Taura and right is Mccall

These lipsticks are £8.99 and Lip liners are £5.99 and are available from Boots, superdrug and Asos.  Will you be picking any of these up, let me know your thoughts? Also Boots and superdrug currently have 3 for 2 on cosmetics!!

heavy metal palette

One Palette that is a must have and that I highly recommend for the festive season……It has to be the new one from Urban Decay  The heavy metals Metallic palette, not only is the packaging so different and unique it’s bursting with high pigment foiled and metallic shadows, this is a palette you need in your collection. Trust me on this!!

Versatile with bright bold colours for people who are a little bit more adventurous and then your everyday neutral wearable shades. Its hard to pick a favorite side, but you should know by now I do love my rose gold and gold tones so obviously it has to be the right side!!

urban decay heavy metal

Urban Decay just Know how to launch new products and at the perfect timing, we had the naked heat right at the end of summer, which was perfect for the start of Autumn with those warm toned shades and now we have the heavy metal collection, which screams Christmas and new year and party season!! Bold electric colours will be sure to get you standing out in the crowd at your work Christmas party and new year celebrations.

If you know me than you know how much I love my glitter and sparkle shadows, so keep on reading to see what I think of this new palette and if its worth adding to your collection.

urban decay metal palette

The palette contains 20 brand new exclusive shades ( yes brand new!!)  in an intense  but extremely buttery metallic formula, these have got to be Urban Decay’s best metallic shadows to date. The pigment is insane with just a finger swatch, could you imagine what it would be like by wetting you finger or brush to apply these on the eye!! These aren’t a rough or gritty texture either, these shadows are super soft and blend amazingly.

You can create a soft and everyday natural look or even a dramatic evening glam with this palette, like I said it is very versatile.

The packaging is unlike anything I’ve seen before, a stunning purple case that a has a crushed effect on one side, the palette slides open to reveal the shadows on a tray rather than your usual type of palette, it also comes with a giant mirror!! This might not be the most piratical palette to travel with as it is quite heavy, but do you know what, I don’t really care, as its so pretty and I love the fact they have completely come out with something new and unique, its very refreshing to see.

urban decay metallic shadows

The Left side of the Palette – Bright side

heavy metal swatches

Ground (metallic black w/iridescent shimmer)
Spandex (metallic deep blue w/purple shift and blue micro-sparkle)
Metalhead (metallic deep purple)
Mullet (metallic deep green)
Twisted (metallic gold)

heavy metal swatches

Aluminum (metallic warm gray-taupe w/iridescent micro-sparkle)
Dive (metallic medium blue)
Punk Rock (metallic fuchsia)
Amp (metallic bright teal)
Glamrock (metallic silver)

Right side of the palette – Neutrals

heavy metal swatches

Bass (bronze)
Demo (bronze-rose)
Afterparty (metallic red)
Roadie (metallic burgundy)
Scream (metallic mauve)

urban decay heavy metal swatches

Glory (golden bronze)
Starfire (bright copper)
Angelfire (pale pink)
Maiden (beige)
Acoustic (nude)

What is your favourite side of the palette or do you like all of the shades?? Each shadow feels exactly the same and has the intense pigment, the only one I would say needs a little bit more work is Angelfire, which is a bummer as that is one of my favourite shades. It just doesn’t seem as metallic as the other shades. But that is the only one I can fault.

Trouble Maker Mascara

trouble maker mascara

Another new product from Urban Decay that I’m loving right now is the trouble maker mascara, it gives you those intense black lashes and mega volume!! perfect companion for the heavy metal palette that will really make your eyes pop!!

I am extremely fussy when it comes to my mascara, and I have been really impressed with this, it adds length and volume and really curls every lash. Intense black colour payoff and doesn’t smudge or flake under the eyes, that is a massive pet hate of mine and thankfully this doesn’t do that! Its even buildable for when you want to add more layers or to top up throughout the day.

Also also how amazing is this packaging?!!

urban decay trouble maker review

Perfect shape brush that really coats every lash, and the little bits on the brush even get the hard to reach lashes!

trouble maker mascara urban decay

Few other products I need to mention that I’m also loving right now

All nighter setting spray – must have for the party season and keeps your makeup locked and set in place!!

Naked skin concealer – really brightens up the under eyes, perfect if you have had a late night the night before and have some under eye dullness.

Eyeshadow primer potion – you definitely need a good eye shadow primer to help prep the eyelids and keep your eye shadow in place all day and night long.

Heavy metal glitter eyeliner – if you have metallic eyes you might as well go the whole hog and have glitter winged eyeliner as well right?

Naked shapeshifter palette – perfect for bronzing, contouring, highlighting and colour correcting the face, a must have palette to have in your makeup bag

The heavy metal metallic palette is $43 and  available from Urban Decay and most retailers as well as the trouble maker mascara £19.50 and both are definitely worth the money!

will you be picking up the Heavy metal palette and trouble maker mascara for the festive and party season? let me know below.

Christmas is nearly here!!! shopping has started, although for some it might nearly be finished, and if you’re struggling for ideas or wondering what to put on your Christmas lists then it has to be these two Stila sets!

Perfect for gifting to a friend or loved one, and fellow makeup junkies,  they’re the perfect gift idea and stocking filler and they come in mini sizes so are perfect for trying out before buying the full size. I love Mini makeup and I think it makes the perfect gift. You will know how much I have raved about these Stila Glitter & Glow metallic shadows, easily one of my favourite beauty products of the year, so when Stila came out with these sets I knew I had to have them. And I am in love!!

keep on reading to see why they’re my must have Christmas item this year.

Eye for Elegance liquid eye shadow Set £45

Includes three deluxe glitter & glow liquid eye shadows which are super sparkly and look so gorgeous on the eyes.

Also includes three new shimmer & glow liquid shadows that are brand NEW and launching in the spring. These are very shimmery, almost metallic but don’t contain any glitter.

The shades

  • shimmer & Glow – Kitten (shimmering vibrant nude pink)
  • Shimmer & Glow – Grace (shimmering rose gold)
  • Shimmer & Glow – Twig (shimmering warm chestnut brown)
  • Glitter & Glow – Peachy Sheen (sheer warm peachy beige with silver and gold glitter)
  • Glitter & Glow – Smoldering Satin (deep tan and silver glitter)
  • Glitter & Glow – Next To Notte (deep red with pink glitter)

This set is a must, as not only does it contain three of the popular glitter & glow shadows but two of them I have never seen before so I do believe they are brand new shades that also might be launching next year, as well as the brand new Shimmer & glow shadows, so this set is amazing as you’re trying mini deluxe sizes of products that haven’t actually launched yet.

The glitters are just the same as the others in this range I have tried, super sparkly and very intense on the eyes, they look so beautiful and I have so many complements when I wear these, fellow makeup addicts always guess what I have on before I can even answer. definitely a must have for the Christmas season and work parties, you have to wear some glitter.

The shimmers are just as gorgeous and come in three really wearable shades, they’re super metallic and dry really quickly and don’t transfer. I will definitely be picking up the full size when they launch next year, I cant wait. I think kitten is my personal favourtie out the three.

Smoldering Satin

Next to Notte

Peachy sheen

Written in the stars set £25

This set is also perfect for the festive season, any glitter addict needs this set, if you love using pigments but hate the mess then you need these Glitter & glow shadows in your life.

Set includes

  • Diamond Dust (sheer silver and multi-colour glitter)
  • Kitten Karma (champagne, silver and copper glitter)
  • Smoky Storm (light pewter and silver glitter)

Diamond dust, Kitten karma, Smokey storm

what is great about these is that they have a backing colour to them which makes the glitter stand out even more on the eyes and also makes it really easy to apply as they don’t make any mess, they dry quickly and don’t transfer on the eyelids or have any fall out under the eye like other glitter can. Like I said hands down my best beauty product of the year.  I’m already on my second one of kitten karma, again my personal favourite, it’s just so gorgeous. I love my rose gold and gold tones.

These will make the perfect present or stocking filler, and I can’t see what girl wouldn’t be happy with these under the tree this year, a must have for any beauty and makeup lovers. These are available from Stila UK with free shipping and also cult beauty, asos and marks and spencer!

Have you already treated yourself to these or will they be on your Christmas list!?

Becca cosmetics package

I recently received the best PR package from BECCA cosmetics.

I have received BECCA packages before in the past and am I huge lover of this brand, it’s one of my favourites. So when I received this package  that quite a lot of the big influencers who I look up to and watch also got this package as well, it’s safe to say I was over the moon. I think it means so much more when it’s a brand you truly love and support.

But less of me rambling and more onto what I actually received.

Becca pr package

They have recently launched the new velvet blurring primer, which I was going to pick up actually when I was away so I was so happy I could try it early and before it actually launched in the UK. Also I got all the fair/light shades in the ultimate complexion creme foundation and the new blurring powder in pink haze. These 3 products are the perfect combo to achieve smooth looking skin that is blurred and radiant but also still looks and feels like your skin. which is what I love about all of the BECCA products I’ve tried.

want a flawless, airbrushed base? Then you need this new velvet blurring primer. It’s a liquid to powder blurring primer that reduces the appearance of pores, fine lines and imperfections. Super light texture that is oil free which helps absorb the appearance of excess oil and extends the wear of makeup. it’s Brightening with the apricot hue formula, it helps to brighten up the skin and is also smoothing as it’s infused with pore blurring powders to diffuse light for a velvety soft finish.

Becca velvet blurring primer

Make sure to shake before use, One pump is enough but I use two just to make sure I’ve covered my whole face, I really buff it into the skin and I love using it with the BECCA one perfecting brush. I actually have one of these already and you can use it with creams, liquid and powders. This does dry down pretty quick you will notice how soft and powdery it starts to feel. I definitely think this is more suited to oily/combo skin but It could be used for all skin types. Just make sure if you’re super dry to moisturise well before.

Available to buy from Becca cosmetics, Sephora and ulta for $38 and is available in the UK on space NK for £32.

The ultimate coverage foundation is one I have wanted to try for some time, it’s been out a while but has kind of been relaunched. It’s a full coverage foundation which claims to have 24 hour wear, its water-resistant enriched with intense pigments and water to give good coverage and a gorgeous natural finish.

Becca ultimate coverage foundation

It’s  oil free and contains 22% water to hydrate the skin without that cakey full coverage feel that some full coverage foundations have. It comes in a good selection of shades 20 in total ranging from the lightest to deepest. I’m normally the lightest in foundations and the shade porcelain is perfect for me. I apply this with the one perfecting brush and buff and apply in circular motions. It feels quite thick to start off with and you defiantly can see it’s a full coverage foundation. But I like the fact you can still see and feel your skin, it’s not heavy or looks like you’re wearing loads of foundation. just a tip If you are dry just make sure to exfoliate and moisturise well before use.

Available from BECCA cosmetics, Sephora and ulta for $44 and also available in the UK from space nk and cult beauty for £34.

becca ultimate coverage swatches

my perfect shade is porcelain, but also shell could work for me. I love more neutral foundation shades, where as the others are a little bit more yellow toned.

If you have got this far then you know it’s essential to set your makeup, whether you’re oily or dry setting your foundation is a must. And this is another product I have wanted to try, the soft light blurring powder, it comes in two shades transparent which is more of a peachy/flesh colour and this new one which is pink haze. Now don’t be put off by the bright pink colour, it blends into the skin and doesn’t leave you with a pink face or pink flash back. This powder is gorgeous for blurring, brightening and looking radiant and airbrushed. This fine powder is supposed to act like a filter for your face, blurring imperfections and making skin look and feel more luminous. It eliminates shine without making the skin look dry and too matte so I do think this is lovely for both oily and dry skin.

Becca blurring powder in pink haze

can we also just talk about the packaging how beautiful is it? best packaging and setting powder I’ve seen. well done BECCA! If you want a powder that is really matte and to bake etc then I dont think this one is for you but if your like me and maybe dont need to bake and rely on setting your face but you still like to powder certain areas of your face then you will love this, I personally love the fact it’s brightening and makes the skin look so luminous but without looking oily. I think BECCA really nail it with making your skin look so gorgeous and natural and really enhancing your own skin.

Available from BECCA, Sephora and ulta for $38 and available in the UK from Space NK for £32

Becca cosmetics perfect base

Again BECCA haven’t disappointed with these new products, and I have got even more products to add to my favourites, I’m now trying to decide what I really need to take away with me out of this lot as I’m in a bit of a dilemma ha ha I can’t take it all as I am running out of room! I think the primer will be amazing in the heat though so that’s definitely coming and I think the powder will also be great to just refresh my makeup and make me not look to oily!

will you be picking up any of these new BECCA products. let me know below.
