urban decay review

I wanted to do a post and focus on a brand I have been absolutely loving this month and that is Urban Decay, If you follow me on social media you will know I was invited to the event for the launch of the new naked heat palette recently, which I was very excited about and I had so much fun, I met some lovely other bloggers, youtubers and makeup addicts, as well as Jen and Lydia from Urban decay who I loved, those girls are so lovely, and It felt like Lydia was one of my long-lost friends, we just hit it off straight away, which is always nice when going to these events.

So the naked heat palette is the palette that literally everyone is talking about right now and for good reason, it’s definitely my favourite naked palette so far!! well done Urban decay, well done!! So obviously at the event I got given the palette and a little goody bag which was so lovely as it has given me the chance to finally try out the famous all nighter setting spray that is very well loved and always raved about, but I just hadn’t got around to picking it up myself!

Urban decay collection

I’m going to be talking about some cult classics from Urban decay like the setting spray and eyeshadow primer and also some new launches which I was very looking forward to trying.

Shapshifter Palette In light – medium

urban decay shape shifter palette

I have been loving this contour and colour corrector palette, I do love a bit of contour, bronzer and highlighter, although I don’t colour correct that much I was intrigued by this palette. It’s absolutly perfect for travel because it’s all in one and has a handy mirror as well. The shades are perfect for my skin tone as im more fair/light, I’ve used all of these powders and love them all, I’ve used the matte highlight powder to set my face and under my concealer etc and then I like using the lighter contour powder to define my cheeks a bit more and then the darker shade to bronze up my face. The powders are super pigmented and blend lovely.  I have been using it non stop since I got it and it’s definitely coming on holiday with me!! If you’re more fair or light and worry about contour powders being to dark this is perfect as it has the more lighter cooler tone to create the shadows and then the warmer darker shade for warming up the face.

shapeshifter swatches

Heres just a swatch of the powders just to show you how pigmented they are, you really do only need to slighty tap into the palette as the pigment is so good. All these shades work perfect for my skin tone.

Shapeshifter F113 pro Duo Brush

The shape shifter duo brush I’ve also been loving, its perfect for this palette, it has the fan side which is perfect for dusting on highlighter and the other side is more dense to sculpt out the cheek bones, the brush is super soft so it’s really easy to use and blend out product.

Naked Heat Palette

naked heat palette

Now I haven’t reviewed this palette or done any swatches on my blog as I just felt like everyone has talked about this so much,  and what more can I say that others haven’t, but I am loving this, it is perfect for both summer and autumn, the smokey warm brown and orange tones I am seriously in love with lately. The shades are so pigmented and blend out like a dream. When I was at the event one of the Urban Decay makeup artist used this on Lydia and actually used one of the shades as a blush, it looked so gorgeous, I can’t wait to play around with this some more. It also goes perfect with the original eyeshadow primer potion, I can’t live without using eyeshadow primer, and this one is definitely a must have, It makes my shadow last for hours!!

Quick Fix Priming spray & All nighter setting spray

all nighter spray

If you know me then you know I love a good face spray. whether its primers, setting sprays or even sprays that just refresh the skin. I have quite the collection of face sprays but I didn’t have any from Urban Decay so I was really excited to try these.

The Quick Fix Hydra-Charged Complexion Prep Priming Spray I use before I add anything to my face in the mornings and before I apply my makeup, it just really freshens up the skin and makes you feel awake, It smells gorgeous as well like coconuts, you can use this over makeup as well to just hydrate and freshen up the skin. It claims to reduce the appearance of pores, replaces lost moisture and wakes up the skin. This is like everything I want in a priming spray!

The all nighter spray is a setting spray so is used once you have completed all your makeup and you really don’t want it budging, this is so good for events, nights out, etc. It’s like superglue but without feeling like glue ha!

It claims to make your makeup last for up to 16 hours, without melting, fading or setting into fine lines.

Naked skin Highlighter fluid

naked highlighter fluid

The naked skin concealer is one of my favourites so I was looking forward to trying these, as I do love a liquid highlighter, the packaging is exactly the same as the concealers so people can get mixed up with these, and I dont see these get talked about a lot but they should as they’re so nice.

A creamy highlighter that instantly illuminates and blurs flaws for the perfect Naked glow!

I love to glow and these are just so handy to pop in your makeup bag and for travel and to touch up throughout the day. I just love the look of glowy and radiant skin on people, including myself.  These are great for strobing and giving that glow from within look.

5 shades to choose from so you will definitely find one you love.

Sin – the perfect champagne

Fireball – peach with a pink shift

Skywalk- an amazing blue

Luminous- silver white pearl

Aura – a soft pink

Vice sheer shimmer Lipstick In ex girlfriend

vice sheer shimmer lipstick

I haven’t tried the Urban Decay lipsticks before but I get recommended them all the time, I definitely need to pick up some of the liquid lipsticks next, I feel like liquid lips have taken over and no one ever talks about normal lipsticks anymore. But you can’t beat a nice lipstick for more natural days. This shade is perfect for me as I do love a nude, it’s a sheer shimmer lipstick, so it feels so moisturising on the lips and is really wearable. Also how gorgeous is the packaging?! I’m such a sucker for packaging. This shade is a your lips but better colour, a rosy type nude pink, It’s very natural, well on me it is anyway.

Rehab makeup prep pore refining peel

makeup prep pore refining mask

And lastly is the pore refining peel mask, they have just recently launched skin care which I’m dying to try actually and after using this I really want to try a few of the other skin care bits including the Hot Springs Hydrating Gel. Now I would love to say I don’t suffer with pores but I really do, and I like using creams, primers and masks that make them look smaller. I love the fact this is a peel off mask, it’s always so satisfying peeling off face masks don’t you think?!. I’ve used this a few times so will definitely report back and let you know if it’s helped with my pores.

“Rehab Makeup Prep Pore Refining Peel is like a vacuum for your pores. This easy-to-use, peel-off mask immediately draws out impurities—leaving pores visibly cleaner, more refined and smaller-looking”

So those are the products I’ve been loving from Urban Decay this month.

Have you tried any of these products mentioned? what are you currently loving from Urban decay?

Eco tools

EcoTools has been around for so long now and is a truly well loved brand, and for good reason, the products are environmentally friendly, but chic, high-quality, and affordable too!! what more could you possible want, I love that these aren’t your typical brushes and I love the eco aspect with the recycled materials, Renewable bamboo and its cruelty free! It’s nice to know what you’re using is natural and good for you and the environment.

I was recently sent this lovely package by Ecotools, and I was excited as I have heard lots of good things about some of the new products, and they dont just sell brushes anymore either they have really branched out. The sponges are what everyone is talking about recently and loving. Now I love a good makeup sponge I can’t  live without one, and these are such a good shape and I’m normally really fussy about my sponges as they have to be soft and bouncy!!

Eco tools brushes

The brushes are so soft, probably the fluffiest and softest brushes I own and that’s saying something as I have quite the collection. I love the sheer powder brush, it is lovely for dusting and setting the face with powder and it’s the perfect size as well. Everyone is in to baking at the moment aren’t they and this will be a lovely brush to dust off the excess powder.

The complexion buffer is a flat top brush, so it’s good for buffing and blending, again this will be good with powders but I also think this works lovely with cream and liquid products too, any flat buffer brush is good for making sure everything is blended nicely into the skin.

The micro blending brush is one of the new ones and because of the small angled shape its great for under the eyes, especially for blending and buffing in concealer and around the hard to reach areas. It’s also fab for eyeshadows as well.

Eco tools duo blending sponge

These duo sponges are definitely amazing, and my favourite but then I knew they would be, I just can’t live without a beauty sponge. The shape of these are so different to others already on the market, it just makes it so much easier to blend out your concealer and around hard to reach areas because of the flat pointed tip. Plus you get two sizes which is so handy! These will also be great for baking and cleaning up areas where you want a sharp line, for example if you have made a bit of a mess with your eyeshadow and you want a clean wing.  They are so soft and flexible and I can confirm that they are soft and bouncy. They’re made from ecofoam which is made up of 70% plant-based materials.  I can really see these becoming  my new favourite sponges.

Blending duo sponges

Next up is these Facial mask sponges, I love the idea of these, they’re so handy for removing masks and cleansers etc I am a face mask lover especially the really messy clay ones so I like using something that will get it all off and sometimes I dont like using my favourite wash cloth, you know just in case it stains or what not, so I like the idea of having my own mini pack of sponges.  These also clean, cleanse and exfoliate the skin. So if you use a wet cleanser or makeup remover to take your makeup off these will be perfect for that, definitely multi use and perfect for travel too.

So those are some of the bits I’m currently loving from ecotools, Have you tried any of the ecotool range or some of the new products??  Let me know below.

You can find ecotool products online and in most retailers including boots and Superdrug.

The benefit roller lash, as let’s be honest who doesn’t love a benefit product especially the minis they’re so cute, I have always loved benefit mascaras! The Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser has been on my wish list for a while as well as it gets a lot of praise,  The OPI nail polish, because I just think this is the perfect shade for summer. As you can see I do pretty much Love most of these products, it’s the perfect way to try out the samples before buying the full size and I really think I’m going to end up buying at least 3 or 4 maybe even 5 of the full sizes products from this box! opps, my wish list just keeps on growing!

Those are just a handful of my favourite picks from this box, but It still has other fab goodies, the ultrasun face cream is a must for the summer, and the Julien Farel shampoo and conditioner is such a good size  and perfect for weak or damaged hair (which mine is) I’m really looking forward to trying out the rest of these products.

The Tili box is amazing and seriously worth the £20 if not more. I can’t wait for the next one already as I will definitely be buying it. I was recently sent a gorgeous package from Garnier, now I’m a big fan of Garnier and have used it for years. They have recently re branded a little bit and have come out with lots of new products and packaging. I am a big fan of the pure active range but I was recently sent the skin active Honey flower range to try out. which Included the gel wash, cleanser, toner, and day cream.

This is more suited for dry skin but they literally have something for everyone whether your skin is dry, sensitive, combination and oily.

Rose water – for sensitive skin

Green tea leaves – for combination to oily skin

Honey flower for dry skin

Aloe extract – for normal to combination skin

I have been using the Garnier Micellar water for over a year now, I love this one which is the oil infused for dry skin and I also love the pure active one for combination to oily skin, as I can suffer with breakouts so I find this one is perfect. To be honest I feel like my skin is a mixture so I would probably say I’m more combination now rather than dry.

What I love about this range is that 96% of its ingredients are natural and free from parabens, silicone or synthetic colourants which makes you feel better when using this as you know its 100% good for you and your skin.

But back onto the actual products and a little bit about them and why I’ve been loving them, firstly they smell incredible, I love the floral scent. The cleanser and toner I’ve been using the most over the last few weeks. Honey is such a good ingredient for the skin, its calming, nourishing, and also comforts and repairs the skin leaving it feeling silky smooth.

what I love about the cleanser is that it’s a milk, so it feels really moistursing. It removes my makeup really well although I dont use it just to take off my makeup as I always like to use something else to make sure my makeup is completely off.

The toner makes my skin feel really fresh and clean, that’s the only way I can describe it. I feel like this whole range just makes my skin feel really moisturised and smooth. I’m definitely a big fan of this range.  I’m a big fan of Garnier skin care in general to be honest. I have been a big fan for many years and I still swear by the Garnier skin soothing 2 in 1 makeup remover that I have used since my teens. which by the way I hope they’re not discontinuing as I am struggling to find it at the moment. Another product I’m also loving are the skin active and moisture bomb sheet masks, I think they’re amazing for the price, you can’t beat a good sheet mask can you? it’s so relaxing.

Have you tried anything from this new Garnier range? let me know what you think and if you will be picking anything up.

Dove have recently re formulated or lets say launched a new range that not only protects you and keeps you feeling and smelling fresh, it also cares for your under arms too. We care for our skin by using skin care with moisturisng benefits so why not care for our underarms?! I actually have really sensitive skin so sometimes I can get a shaving rash under my arms or they become quite dry, so I love the fact Dove deodorants now contain 1/4 moisturising cream. It leaves them feeling soft and smooth but also smelling fresh which is what we all want right?

I have always used dove deodorants, I just love the range they do and how they smell. so I’m a big fan of this new range. They have  8 different options available so depending on what you look for in a antiperspirant and what smells you like, I think you will find one you love in this range. My personal favourite is the go fresh grapefruit and lemongrass roll on and spray. It just smells so sweet and fresh and I love it, I love having a deodorant I can smell throughout the day when I’m moving and lifting my arms etc and with these Dove ones I feel like they really do last.

I like changing up my deodorant frequently between a roll on and a spray. And at the moment I’m loving the roll on. I am very impressed with these new antiperspirants, I just love how silky smooth and fresh it leaves my underarms.

I just want to leave this dove quote here as I think it explains everything you need to know perfectly and why I think Dove stand out from all the other brands when it comes to skin care.

“Because we know you want more from an antiperspirant deodorant than just protection, with Dove you get care, too. The perfect combination”

Like I said there is 8 different ones to choose from, including the original, pomegranate and lemon, cucumber and green tea, and invisible dry to name just a few as well as roll on,  sprays and compressed cans that are perfect to put in your bag for on the go and travel.

Available from most leading retailers including boots and superdrug.

Have you tried this new range? will you be picking up one to try? let me know below.
