heavy metal palette

One Palette that is a must have and that I highly recommend for the festive season……It has to be the new one from Urban Decay  The heavy metals Metallic palette, not only is the packaging so different and unique it’s bursting with high pigment foiled and metallic shadows, this is a palette you need in your collection. Trust me on this!!

Versatile with bright bold colours for people who are a little bit more adventurous and then your everyday neutral wearable shades. Its hard to pick a favorite side, but you should know by now I do love my rose gold and gold tones so obviously it has to be the right side!!

urban decay heavy metal

Urban Decay just Know how to launch new products and at the perfect timing, we had the naked heat right at the end of summer, which was perfect for the start of Autumn with those warm toned shades and now we have the heavy metal collection, which screams Christmas and new year and party season!! Bold electric colours will be sure to get you standing out in the crowd at your work Christmas party and new year celebrations.

If you know me than you know how much I love my glitter and sparkle shadows, so keep on reading to see what I think of this new palette and if its worth adding to your collection.

urban decay metal palette

The palette contains 20 brand new exclusive shades ( yes brand new!!)  in an intense  but extremely buttery metallic formula, these have got to be Urban Decay’s best metallic shadows to date. The pigment is insane with just a finger swatch, could you imagine what it would be like by wetting you finger or brush to apply these on the eye!! These aren’t a rough or gritty texture either, these shadows are super soft and blend amazingly.

You can create a soft and everyday natural look or even a dramatic evening glam with this palette, like I said it is very versatile.

The packaging is unlike anything I’ve seen before, a stunning purple case that a has a crushed effect on one side, the palette slides open to reveal the shadows on a tray rather than your usual type of palette, it also comes with a giant mirror!! This might not be the most piratical palette to travel with as it is quite heavy, but do you know what, I don’t really care, as its so pretty and I love the fact they have completely come out with something new and unique, its very refreshing to see.

Glory (golden bronze)
Starfire (bright copper)
Angelfire (pale pink)
Maiden (beige)
Acoustic (nude)

What is your favourite side of the palette or do you like all of the shades?? Each shadow feels exactly the same and has the intense pigment, the only one I would say needs a little bit more work is Angelfire, which is a bummer as that is one of my favourite shades. It just doesn’t seem as metallic as the other shades. But that is the only one I can fault.

Trouble Maker Mascara

trouble maker mascara

Another new product from Urban Decay that I’m loving right now is the trouble maker mascara, it gives you those intense black lashes and mega volume!! perfect companion for the heavy metal palette that will really make your eyes pop!!

I am extremely fussy when it comes to my mascara, and I have been really impressed with this, it adds length and volume and really curls every lash. Intense black colour payoff and doesn’t smudge or flake under the eyes, that is a massive pet hate of mine and thankfully this doesn’t do that! Its even buildable for when you want to add more layers or to top up throughout the day.

Also also how amazing is this packaging?!!

urban decay trouble maker review

Perfect shape brush that really coats every lash, and the little bits on the brush even get the hard to reach lashes!

trouble maker mascara urban decay

Few other products I need to mention that I’m also loving right now

All nighter setting spray – must have for the party season and keeps your makeup locked and set in place!!

Naked skin concealer – really brightens up the under eyes, perfect if you have had a late night the night before and have some under eye dullness.

Eyeshadow primer potion – you definitely need a good eye shadow primer to help prep the eyelids and keep your eye shadow in place all day and night long.

Heavy metal glitter eyeliner – if you have metallic eyes you might as well go the whole hog and have glitter winged eyeliner as well right?

Naked shapeshifter palette – perfect for bronzing, contouring, highlighting and colour correcting the face, a must have palette to have in your makeup bag

The heavy metal metallic palette is $43 and  available from Urban Decay and most retailers as well as the trouble maker mascara £19.50 and both are definitely worth the money!

will you be picking up the Heavy metal palette and trouble maker mascara for the festive and party season? let me know below.

Christmas is nearly here!!! shopping has started, although for some it might nearly be finished, and if you’re struggling for ideas or wondering what to put on your Christmas lists then it has to be these two Stila sets!

Perfect for gifting to a friend or loved one, and fellow makeup junkies,  they’re the perfect gift idea and stocking filler and they come in mini sizes so are perfect for trying out before buying the full size. I love Mini makeup and I think it makes the perfect gift. You will know how much I have raved about these Stila Glitter & Glow metallic shadows, easily one of my favourite beauty products of the year, so when Stila came out with these sets I knew I had to have them. And I am in love!!

keep on reading to see why they’re my must have Christmas item this year.

Eye for Elegance liquid eye shadow Set £45

Includes three deluxe glitter & glow liquid eye shadows which are super sparkly and look so gorgeous on the eyes.

Also includes three new shimmer & glow liquid shadows that are brand NEW and launching in the spring. These are very shimmery, almost metallic but don’t contain any glitter.

The shades

  • shimmer & Glow – Kitten (shimmering vibrant nude pink)
  • Shimmer & Glow – Grace (shimmering rose gold)
  • Shimmer & Glow – Twig (shimmering warm chestnut brown)
  • Glitter & Glow – Peachy Sheen (sheer warm peachy beige with silver and gold glitter)
  • Glitter & Glow – Smoldering Satin (deep tan and silver glitter)
  • Glitter & Glow – Next To Notte (deep red with pink glitter)

This set is a must, as not only does it contain three of the popular glitter & glow shadows but two of them I have never seen before so I do believe they are brand new shades that also might be launching next year, as well as the brand new Shimmer & glow shadows, so this set is amazing as you’re trying mini deluxe sizes of products that haven’t actually launched yet.

The glitters are just the same as the others in this range I have tried, super sparkly and very intense on the eyes, they look so beautiful and I have so many complements when I wear these, fellow makeup addicts always guess what I have on before I can even answer. definitely a must have for the Christmas season and work parties, you have to wear some glitter.

The shimmers are just as gorgeous and come in three really wearable shades, they’re super metallic and dry really quickly and don’t transfer. I will definitely be picking up the full size when they launch next year, I cant wait. I think kitten is my personal favourtie out the three.

Smoldering Satin

Next to Notte

Peachy sheen

Written in the stars set £25

This set is also perfect for the festive season, any glitter addict needs this set, if you love using pigments but hate the mess then you need these Glitter & glow shadows in your life.

Set includes

  • Diamond Dust (sheer silver and multi-colour glitter)
  • Kitten Karma (champagne, silver and copper glitter)
  • Smoky Storm (light pewter and silver glitter)

Diamond dust, Kitten karma, Smokey storm

what is great about these is that they have a backing colour to them which makes the glitter stand out even more on the eyes and also makes it really easy to apply as they don’t make any mess, they dry quickly and don’t transfer on the eyelids or have any fall out under the eye like other glitter can. Like I said hands down my best beauty product of the year.  I’m already on my second one of kitten karma, again my personal favourite, it’s just so gorgeous. I love my rose gold and gold tones.

These will make the perfect present or stocking filler, and I can’t see what girl wouldn’t be happy with these under the tree this year, a must have for any beauty and makeup lovers. These are available from Stila UK with free shipping and also cult beauty, asos and marks and spencer!

Have you already treated yourself to these or will they be on your Christmas list!?

Becca cosmetics package

I recently received the best PR package from BECCA cosmetics.

I have received BECCA packages before in the past and am I huge lover of this brand, it’s one of my favourites. So when I received this package  that quite a lot of the big influencers who I look up to and watch also got this package as well, it’s safe to say I was over the moon. I think it means so much more when it’s a brand you truly love and support.

But less of me rambling and more onto what I actually received.

Becca pr package

They have recently launched the new velvet blurring primer, which I was going to pick up actually when I was away so I was so happy I could try it early and before it actually launched in the UK. Also I got all the fair/light shades in the ultimate complexion creme foundation and the new blurring powder in pink haze. These 3 products are the perfect combo to achieve smooth looking skin that is blurred and radiant but also still looks and feels like your skin. which is what I love about all of the BECCA products I’ve tried.

want a flawless, airbrushed base? Then you need this new velvet blurring primer. It’s a liquid to powder blurring primer that reduces the appearance of pores, fine lines and imperfections. Super light texture that is oil free which helps absorb the appearance of excess oil and extends the wear of makeup. it’s Brightening with the apricot hue formula, it helps to brighten up the skin and is also smoothing as it’s infused with pore blurring powders to diffuse light for a velvety soft finish.

Becca velvet blurring primer

Make sure to shake before use, One pump is enough but I use two just to make sure I’ve covered my whole face, I really buff it into the skin and I love using it with the BECCA one perfecting brush. I actually have one of these already and you can use it with creams, liquid and powders. This does dry down pretty quick you will notice how soft and powdery it starts to feel. I definitely think this is more suited to oily/combo skin but It could be used for all skin types. Just make sure if you’re super dry to moisturise well before.

Available to buy from Becca cosmetics, Sephora and ulta for $38 and is available in the UK on space NK for £32.

The ultimate coverage foundation is one I have wanted to try for some time, it’s been out a while but has kind of been relaunched. It’s a full coverage foundation which claims to have 24 hour wear, its water-resistant enriched with intense pigments and water to give good coverage and a gorgeous natural finish.

Becca ultimate coverage foundation

It’s  oil free and contains 22% water to hydrate the skin without that cakey full coverage feel that some full coverage foundations have. It comes in a good selection of shades 20 in total ranging from the lightest to deepest. I’m normally the lightest in foundations and the shade porcelain is perfect for me. I apply this with the one perfecting brush and buff and apply in circular motions. It feels quite thick to start off with and you defiantly can see it’s a full coverage foundation. But I like the fact you can still see and feel your skin, it’s not heavy or looks like you’re wearing loads of foundation. just a tip If you are dry just make sure to exfoliate and moisturise well before use.

Available from BECCA cosmetics, Sephora and ulta for $44 and also available in the UK from space nk and cult beauty for £34.

becca ultimate coverage swatches

my perfect shade is porcelain, but also shell could work for me. I love more neutral foundation shades, where as the others are a little bit more yellow toned.

If you have got this far then you know it’s essential to set your makeup, whether you’re oily or dry setting your foundation is a must. And this is another product I have wanted to try, the soft light blurring powder, it comes in two shades transparent which is more of a peachy/flesh colour and this new one which is pink haze. Now don’t be put off by the bright pink colour, it blends into the skin and doesn’t leave you with a pink face or pink flash back. This powder is gorgeous for blurring, brightening and looking radiant and airbrushed. This fine powder is supposed to act like a filter for your face, blurring imperfections and making skin look and feel more luminous. It eliminates shine without making the skin look dry and too matte so I do think this is lovely for both oily and dry skin.

Becca blurring powder in pink haze

can we also just talk about the packaging how beautiful is it? best packaging and setting powder I’ve seen. well done BECCA! If you want a powder that is really matte and to bake etc then I dont think this one is for you but if your like me and maybe dont need to bake and rely on setting your face but you still like to powder certain areas of your face then you will love this, I personally love the fact it’s brightening and makes the skin look so luminous but without looking oily. I think BECCA really nail it with making your skin look so gorgeous and natural and really enhancing your own skin.

Available from BECCA, Sephora and ulta for $38 and available in the UK from Space NK for £32

Becca cosmetics perfect base

Again BECCA haven’t disappointed with these new products, and I have got even more products to add to my favourites, I’m now trying to decide what I really need to take away with me out of this lot as I’m in a bit of a dilemma ha ha I can’t take it all as I am running out of room! I think the primer will be amazing in the heat though so that’s definitely coming and I think the powder will also be great to just refresh my makeup and make me not look to oily!

will you be picking up any of these new BECCA products. let me know below.

*Post contains gifted items but all reviews are my own*

My holiday is nearly here yay!! I’m going to florida so obviously I’m going to be buying a lot of makeup, I’ve saved specially for my Sephora and ulta funds!! HA!! but I like taking away my favourite makeup essentials that I use daily or that will be nice to wear in the florida heat, I’m not going to lie I can never pack light or take just a few bits with me, I like to have the choice and that’s in clothes, shoes and also makeup! packing light is always a struggle for me!

I’ve been trying to decide lately what to take with me, I know last time I went in 2015 I only really bothered for the first week and then I just used minimal makeup as it’s so hot and I sweat a lot! but I’m quite conscious of my skin, I can’t go bare-faced so this year Im taking a couple of tinted foundations to wear that might be a bit more comfortable to wear in the heat but still give me a little bit of coverage.

others might think I’m mad for how much I take but everyone is different, I still haven’t decided on my eyeshadow palettes yet and which ones I want to take, I just want a basic palette I can use every day but it’s so hard to decide because I have so many!! but what I have currently decided on is these bits here.

I got my big clear makeup bag from primark, I love taking clear makeup bags because it’s so much easier to see everything and rummage around. nothing worse than having to empty your  makeup bag to find something you’re looking for.

Becca back light primer filter

Charlotte tilbury  healthy glow tinted foundation

Laura geller hydra tint foundation

 L’Oréal pro glow

too faced bronzer in sun bunny

UD shapeshifter palette which contains both cream/powder highlighter, contour & bronzer shades

Kylie wet set highlighter palette

Kylie ulta glow

too faced love lights highlighter

tarte shape tape concealer

cover fx illuminating spray

mac fix plus

UD all nighter setting spray

 L’Oréal paradise mascara

too faced better than sex waterproof mascara

Stila magnificent metal glitter shadows

UD eyeshadow primer

2 basic eyeshadow palettes ( still undecided) Im thinking tarte or morphe

Kylie Velvets In bare, and nake

Kylie gloss in literally

Kylie maliboo lip liner

NYX suede lip liner in sandstorm

Lano  lips tinted lip balm in perfectly nude

Jouer  lip topper in st tropez

I definitely want a bit of coverage on my skin and to be bronzed and glowy, I am going to be glowing probably without using highlighter lets face it ha ha. I also am taking my stila glitters because I am obsessed with these and think they will look lovely in the sun and also for evenings out, I get so many complements when I wear them. I’m taking all nudes because I just love a nude, I just find it goes with everything and I’m loving more glossy and tinted lips rather than liquid lipsticks. Kylie’s velvet lipsticks are amazing because they aren’t drying or super matte.

I’m also going to be taking my favourite moisturiser at the moment that’s the L’Oreal hydra genius one, as well as my SPF, and cooling face mists!

I’m going to be doing a separate post all about my holiday and what my plan is while I’m away with blogging etc but I love reading other people’s holiday makeup bag posts so I thought I would do my own.

Thanks for reading!!

laura geller

A brand I dont think gets enough love or attention and definitely a brand I want to try more products from is Laura Geller.

I love Laura Geller and all the products I’ve tried so far, if you’re a lover of natural fresh looking makeup and glowy and radiant skin then you will really love Laura Geller.

I think because it’s not long been more accessibe in the uk maybe that’s why more people dont talk about these products, you can find Laura Geller on Debenhams, feel unique, house of fraser and QVC uk

Quench – N – Tint foundation in light £26

laura geller quench n tint foundation

I have been testing out this quench n tint foundation for a few weeks now, it’s gorgeous and the formula is really unusual actually, although it comes out like a typical foundation when you start to blend it into the skin it just feels like water! It’s incredibly moisturing and beautiful for dry or aging skin. It just made my skin feel so refreshed and radiant. The coverage is ok, I would say light to medium, it could be buidlable but you definetly wont get full coverage from this, so if you like full coverage this wont be for you. But This is going to be so perfect to take away on holiday with me and for the florida heat!  it leaves the skin so hydrated, and healthy looking. It makes the skin look so fresh and luminous. I love how it feels on, it’s not heavy or sticky or anything, it just feels like your skin but better. I can build it up a little bit as well so the lighter coverage doesn’t bother me that much. Like I said if you have dry or aging skin I think you will love this as it wont settle in dry patches or fine lines. If you love a more light foundation this will be perfect for you.

It comes in 3 shades, light, medium and dark so it’s not the best but I definitely think you could make it work.

Liquid gelato pillow talk illuminator in Ballerina £21

pillow top illuminator laura geller

I love using liquid highlighters, I mix them into my moisturisers and foundations. I dont know why but I just find liquid and cream highlighters look so much nicer on my skin than powders do. This is a sheer liquid formula, in the shade Ballerina which is a stunning rose gold shade. I’m more on the  fair /light side and this is gorgeous for me. The cushion soft applicator makes it perfect to apply to cheek bones and any other feature you like to highlight.  This is great to use for everyday and on the go. It just gives the skin the most gorgeous natural glow.

Easy illuminating stick in ballerina £21

laura geller easy illuminating stick

The easy illuminatiing sticks are also perfect to get that quick and easy glow on the go, perfect to travel with and to pop in your bag. This really does go a long way, you only need a little bit and because it’s a stick it’s just so easy to apply to cheeks, nose, cupids bow, you could even use it on the lips. It gives a natural  luminosity to the skin which I love. It almost has a cream to powder formula so it doesn’t feel wet on the skin or anything. It comes in 3 shades Etheral, Ballerina, and gilded honey.

Baked Gelato Swirl highlighter in gilded honey £21

laura geller gelato swirl

I love the gelato highlighters, I think it’s what Laura Geller is more well known for, because everyone was after this highlighter at one point. I have gilded honey and the formula is so gorgeous, it’s so soft and silky and just blends perfectly into the skin. I think it’s because it almost feels like a cream texture but applies like a powder.  It is on the small side to your typical highlighter size pans but you do only need a little bit as it’s so pigmented, so this will last you a long time. Gilded honey is a beautiful caramel honey gold shade, which is perfect for all skin tones but I do personally think its more suitable for medium to deep skin.

laura geller swatches

What I love about all of these Laura Geller products is that they dont just have to be used as a typical highlighter, you can sweep these all over the face to give you a really radiant and luminous look, or mix in with foundations and moisturisers without you looking like the tin man. I have a list of other Laura Geller products I want to try. A few I’ve got my eye on is the face powders and bronzers including the baked balance – n- brighten powder, and the bronze-n- brighten powder, these look really interesting. Maybe I will pick them up when I’m in America.

Have you tried any of these products from Laura Geller? or have any other products you recommend to try. let me know below. I highly recommend trying this brand if you haven’t already, I don’t think you will be dissapointed.
